n-Link has sponsored four High school seniors in Missouri and Washington to go to Boys and Girls State. It is a one-week camp that simulates a state government, which includes legislative, executive, and judicial branches. Local government officials offer guidance and advice to the students. Separate parties are created so that budding leaders can debate, vote, and execute legislative laws. American Legion's civic exercise promotes hands-on management skills for many of this country's future leaders.

We are especially proud that one of the recipients of n-Link's sponsorship was elected congressional governor! Kami Haines, pictured to the left, was elected governor by her peers and received a $1,000 scholarship at Missouri Girls State. Michael Corcoran, pictured to the right, wrote n-Link a letter that we'd like to share.

"My name is Michael Corcoran and I would like to thank you for helping me attend Boys State. At Boys State, I was elected into the House of Representatives for Evergreen State.

I was in the educational committee. We made, edited, and approved educational laws that were presented to us. We managed to pass a racial education bill that made the teaching of various beliefs and peoples in elementary school. This would hopefully lower racism and stereotypes within the state. Boys State was a great opportunity for me and I loved it. It made me far more interested in politics. I'm considering taking a political science course in college. It was a good experience for me and I thank you for sponsoring. It taught me much of our government. I appreciate your support n-Link. Thanks again. Sincerely, Michael Corcoran"
